Resurrection and Eschatology

P&R has just published what looks like a very helpful compendium of essays in honor of Richard Gaffin: Resurrection and Eschatology: Theology in Service of the Church: Essays in Honor of Richard B. Gaffin Jr.

Here are a couple of blurbs:

Richard B. Gaffin Jr. is a beloved and respected theologian in the Reformed community. He has urged us throughout his career to understand Bible passages in their proper contexts, the most fundamental context being that of Jesus' atonement and resurrection. This volume honors Gaffin by recreating the context of his own ministry: rigorous and sophisticated scholarship, along with Christocentric understandings of redemptive history, solidly within the bounds of Reformed confessionalism.
- John M. Frame, Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy, Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando

These chapters reveal the esteem with which Dr. Gaffin is held. Those of us in the Reformed community, particularly 'professional' theologians like myself, are indebted to Dr. Gaffin in ways that would probably embarrass him. It hasn't been his written output so much (though crucial and indispensable, this has been relatively small); rather, it has been his quiet, resolute defense of orthodoxy rooted in enviable exegetical skills that continues to challenge us. He is a quiet giant in a theological Liliiputian world to whom we owe an immense amount of gratitude and respect. Without him we would be immeasurably to the poorer.
- Derek W. H. Thomas, John E. Richards Professor of Systematic and Practical Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, MS
