The Fight for Terri's Life Goes On

First, if you haven't yet seen videos of Terri, now would be the time to do so:

Terri and her Mother Tracking a Balloon for Dr. Cranford
Swab Test Asked to Open Her Eyes
Terri Responding to Music "How's Your Cold?"

I feel a responsibility to do whatever I can to save Terri Schiavo from the lengthy, painful, cruel murder that was begun today. I am convinced that how a society treats its weakest and most defenseless members is a great indication of where it is moving on the barbarian-civilized continuum. Standing by idly as an activist judge and an adulterous husband co-conspire to painfully execute an innocent human being is simply not an option.

Hastert and Frist, the majority leaders of the House and Senate respectively, issued a joint statement tonight:

“We’re very disappointed by the Florida court’s decision to allow Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube to be removed. The House and Senate leadership are committed to reaching agreement on legislation that provides an opportunity to save Mrs. Schiavo’s life. Now that the House and Senate have each passed different legislative remedies, the House and Senate Committees are working urgently together. We will be working through the weekend to resolve the differences and reach an effective solution that can clear our chambers and be signed by the President.”

So contacting your congressmen this weekend may not be in vain.

On a different front, five Florida state senators have been identified as key politicans who could pass a bill to save Terri's life. Here is their contact information. It doesn't take long to call and write. I encourage you to do so. At the end of this post I've included a simple email that you could revise.
