Thomas Hibbs recommends some movies for Easter--namely, the silent classic, The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) and the Danish film, Babette's Feast (1988).
I haven't seen the former, but I would heartily agree with Hibbs's recommendation of Babette's Feast, which he describes as "a story of the sacramental celebration of sensible delight and communal reconciliation as a sign of the heavenly banquet (Luke 14:23 and Matthew 22:1-10)." It's one of the best movies I know in terms of depicting a form of redemption and transcendence.
