Greg Gilbert offers some appreciation for Andy Crouch's work in Culture Making but argues that "Crouch badly misses the point of the cross, and therefore the point of the gospel" and that "Crouch's reading of the biblical story in terms of 'culture' . . . [seems] almost embarrassingly artificial?"
