Packers vs. Vikings: Doing the Math

The Vikings take Lambert--er, Lambeau--Field tomorrow afternoon. I really hope the Team Formerly Known as the Purple People Eaters will win, but some of the numbers don't look so great...

1 Packers’ playoff losses at Lambeau Field. The Packers are 12-1 in postseason games in Green Bay, with the only loss coming against the Atlanta Falcons, 27-7, on Jan. 4, 2003.

2 Vikings’ victories in their last 22 outdoor games. One of them came in a 30-25 win in Green Bay to open the 2003 season.

3 Times the temperature has been above freezing in 13 playoff games in Green Bay. The average temperature at kickoff for those games was 23. Only twice has the thermometer dipped below 20 — the Ice Bowl (minus-13) in 1967 and the 1997 NFC championship game (3 degrees) vs. Carolina.
