The DaVinci Code

May of 2006 will see the release of the movie version of Dan Brown's bestselling The DaVinci Code. Given the mass appeal of the book, the fact that Ron Howard is directing it, and the fact that Tom Hanks is starring in it, I'm sure the movie will be a huge success.

A number of critiques of the book have been written--one of the most significant being New Testament scholar Darrell Bock's Breaking the Da Vinci Code: Answers to the Questions Everybody's Asking.

For those on-the-go, you can listen to NT scholar Craig Blomberg deliver the following two lectures on the topic:

The DaVinci Code (Part 1): Was There A Plan to Suppress the "Secret" Gospels?

The DaVinci Code (Part 2): Was There a Conspiracy to Concoct a Divine Jesus?
