A Query: Does the ability to distinguish between homonyms (e.g. "principals" vs. "principles") have anything to do with writing well?

This is a very helpful link, indeed—although not as entertaining to read as these rules are. But I’ll bet more writers get noticed by following the former rules than the latter.
