Collin wrote a few days ago about the South Korean missionaries who have been taken captive by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Just by way of update, the Taliban killed another of the hostages on Monday---the pastor of the church which sent the missionaries. Now another deadline has passed. Though the Taliban says it did not kill anyone else, the missionaries are hardly out of the woods. The Taliban is still demanding that the Afghan government release some jailed insurgents. Here is the latest.
Michelle Malkin writes at National Review about the world's seeming inability to look this evil in the face.
I'm reminded in all this how easy it is to forget about the suffering that so many brothers and sisters in Christ are enduring around the world. I hope you'll join me in praying for the lives of these fellow Christians--and ultimately for the return of our Lord, who will one day set all things right. No, we don't know precisely what doctrinal positions these men and women hold, and there may always be questions about whether they should have gone to Afghanistan at all. But for me, right now, it is enough to know that they claim the name of our Savior, and that they are being killed because of it.
