For years the liberal mantra has been that "Dubya is dumb as a doorpost!" At the same time, the new message seems to be: "Don't Misunderestimate Him!"
Yesterday I received a mass email from Mary Beth Cahill, the Kerry-Edwards campaign manager. She writes:
"Make no mistake, George Bush is a skilled debater. In fact, he has never lost a debate in his entire political career."
So which is it? Is he a dumb puppet--or a wordclass debate champion?
