Benny Hinn

$10-million, 7,000 sq. ft. home. $112,000 per month for a private jet. Two $80,000 cars. Luxury hotel rooms that are 5,400 sq. ft. for $10,800 per night paid for and stayed at during a "layover." Tips over a 3-day period for $4,500. A salary of half a million to a million dollars per year--plus book royalties. Those are some of the numbers represented in Benny Hinn's lifestyle.

I don't think these clips from an NBC news expose are new, but they are still instructive.

My heart goes out to the new converts. For I was hoodwinked for a couple years by the Hinn's in this world.

But I was ignorant. I wish someone would have shown me videos like this when I was a new convert. I think it may have helped.

Those that see all this, and hear his unbiblical teachings, and still follow him, will certainly fall into the same pit, that he is in.
May God's mercy and grace help him, and the others climb out of this deep pit of darkness. Amen.

Ah JT...something that we can agree on! :)

I went to a Hinn "crusade" once - it was one of the most disturbing things that I have experienced. The mass crowd control, the anger, the mistreatment of his employees and families, and the "hoodwinked" (as donsands says above) audience that so passionately wanted to believe, so they did.

The amazing thing is that these exposes on Hinn are nothing new. Every couple of years or so a news show will do a special on Hinn and his fake ministry.

Yet he continues, and he continues to rake in the money while deceiving those in need. It is quite sad.

I'm afraid that exposés like this don't really scare people away from Hinn. It seems like the type of people most likely to believe his lies is the same type that will see his wealth as a sign of God's favor.

This is perhaps our most glaring example of a wolf in sheep's clothing, devouring the substance of widows and the ignorant.

I don't believe any true conversions take place through a ministry like this, nor do I believe that Hinn is any more a Christian than Nero was.

I only feel sorry for the poor people who sincerely give to him and his "ministry." There is no sincerity in this man, only hypocrisy, covetousness, lies and deceit. He "is of his father", the father of lies. I know that by God's grace he can be converted, but I don't believe there is any evidence of that having already taken place.

Let us be careful to not consider wealth the root of all evil, but the love of wealth the root of all evil. The problem with Hinn is not that he stops off in Cancun or Milan but that he possibly lives for Cancun or Milan — not for the Lord Jesus. This is what makes him and his 'ministry' so repulsive.

It amazes me to no end the amount of folks who are deceived by this man.

The epitome of Prosperity Theology. Some things Benny does seem to be irreconcilable with the ministry (presidential suites, private plane, etc.), yet we must be careful to not condemn him. I also do not agree with his theology or style of ministry, and am skeptical of the healings produced at his services, but we should bring these things before the Lord that we (and he) must answer to.

Blessings to all (but not too many?).

I went to a Hinn Crusade once. I saw some things that made me entirely uncomfortable. I also saw some things that i believe were truly supernatural. I knew a woman that many years ago was healed of cancer through his ministry. it was verified by multiple doctors and Hinn's team was extremely thorough in their research before reporting it (in that instance). So what do i make of him and his finances? What do i make of him and his seemingly "outrageous" behavior? What do i make of the miracles? Is that "The finger of God" and the Kingdom coming to us? I agree with Steve that we must be careful. May we judge wisely without condemnation.

Lets get something clear here, nobody has ever been healed by Benny Hinn - God yes, Benny Hinn NO.
Also lets remember that good things can come out of Mr Hinn's ministry not because of Mr Hinn, but inspite of Mr Hinn.
Let us also bear in mind that God used Pharaoh to achieve His purposes, but it did not make Pharaoh a man of God.
That Mr Hinn chooses to wallow in wealth in a world full of the needy is something that he will have to justify before God and that should make him a very, very scared man indeed.

Glennsp,
of course God does the healing. it becomes semantical to focus on the language of "God healed someone through________ ministry - or "God healed someone (without mentioning the conduit God chose to use)". we should pray for Benny Hinn - whetherhe is a man of God or not. i will say this about Benny Hinn - he makes me uncomfortable at times and i question some of his biblical interpretation - he appears to be following the job description laid out by Jesus in matthew 10 way more than many of us who look on disapprovingly.

jb, Matthew 10, are you kidding? No apostle of The Lord Jesus Christ would so shame himself whith the profanity of riches as Mr. Benny Hinn has, while there was yet a needy child or widow in their midst.

jp, I disagree. I have found, too often, that if people talk about x person or ministry healing whoever, it quickly, in too many minds, becomes that person or ministry which is actually doing the healing.
Too often God is not given the glory. Or if He is it is almost as an afterthought.
You only have to listen to the 'devotees' of these so called healing ministries. For example - Benny Hinn healed this person, Benny Hinn healed that person, Benny Hinn did this and so on.
Also, why name the conduit, what does it matter who God may (or may not) have used.
A Godly conduit would not want the attention to be on them because it would draw attention to them and not God.
Remember that - 1Co 4:7 - "For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?"

I have been to many Hinn meetings in Sweden. When I was a litte kid I started to feel uncomfortable in his meetings.
I think he started of right but has been overtaken by the wealth..it just shows that he is a human-being with desires. When I overlook the spiritual part I see a sucessful businessman. Allthough, it´s very sad that he uses weak and ingnorant people to get rich! The difference between "Benny hinn the salesman" and another salesman is that the normal salesman wont sell if the customers doesnt feel satisfied. In Benny´s case, he has a goldmine..he can blame it on their faith if it doesnt work.. A normal businessman/salesman cant do that. He takes responsability! Benny Hinn has time after time said: "Woman/man, your have been healed" or "there is someone out there today, on my right hand side, who have just been healed from cancer.." So when he says that he doesnt say that he is lying.

You know what is very disturbing? That he is still deceiving people, all the time.
I have just been talking to some Polish Christians, who honestly believe that the guy is of God, and even threaten me with the verses that speak about God not forgiving for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (because I speak against BH). These are discussions I cannot believe I am a part of!
But the reason is quite simple: as there are numerous evidences of BH's heresy in English, there are virtually none in Polish. People converting from Romanism, not knowing the first thing about the Bible, will fall for any kind of deception.
I think we need to shout even louder about this man and his likes. This is ridiculous - to have to debate sincere believers over BH.

I think its sooo funny how some of these news networks try and attack this guys ministry. Do people know that Benny Hinn has been around for almost 20 years now?

I would think if he was really a "scam" like people keep claiming he would've been caught by now. Obviously this has not happened.

The only thing people keep complaining about is that he has a lot of money and he goes to nice places. Big whoop. When your that well know its hard to stay at Motel 6 without getting mobbed.

I went to school with Benny Hinn's daughters and have been to 3 different crusades of his. I've also seen his billboards in Nigeria and India when I've been there.

This guy is getting more people saved for Jesus Christ then anyone else that complains about him, that's for sure. Is he perfect? No. Has he made mistakes? Yes. Have people thought they were healed at his meetings and later it turned out they weren't? Absoluetely! This stuff happens people, but apparently nobody believes miracles happen.

Here's what ticks me off...when people say there is no need for miracles today. This to me is the height of stupidity. Apparently people who say this have never met someone with stage 3 cancer. I GUARRANTEE you that those people NEED a miracle. And here's the other problem with that belief. It completely robs christianity of its power. To say that miracles were only needed during the apostles time is ludacrous and wrong.

I do crusades myself (not the size of Benny's yet) over in India, South America and Africa and guess what?! People are healed. You can blog all day about how miracles don't really happen and its all hype, but I'm sorry friend your too late for me. I HAVE SEEN IT, and even more then that the Bible says it should happen.

I attended ORU (Oral Roberts University) and while there I was playing basketball with a guy on another floor. This guy went up for a layup and came down hard on his ankle, breaking it. I SAW THIS HAPPEN.

One week later, Benny Hinn held a chapel service for the University and this kid went up for prayer. Later that day he had the cast removed by his doctor because the bone had healed. Again, I SAW THIS HAPPEN.

Alright, alright, one more thought. The Bible says that a house divided against itself can't stand. At the time people were accusing Jesus of healing the sick through the power of Satan? Hmmm, sound familiar? So funny that anytime God demonstrates his power through an individual or to an individual people always think, "It must be the Devil!". So let me get this straight then...

Benny Hinn can lead thousands of people to Jesus Christ, both in America and overseas, have many of them healed through the name of Jesus Christ, and yet his power is actually coming from Satan? Right. That makes sense. I can see Satan having a board meeting on that one.

"Alright fellas, here's the plan. We're going to get thousands of people saved all over the world so people will go to hell".

Yet that is peoples rational for explaing some supernatural that they can't understand. Yes, Benny Hinn is real. Yes he's human and he makes mistakes. But most of all he's leading people to Jesus. Something we should all learn from his example.

So if you really want to do something...quit talking about how bad other christians are and go tell someone about Jesus.

The New Testament warns of times
when people would heap up teachers
after their lusts. Hinn is one
who has been heaped. 2 Tim 4 If he doesn't know truth (obvious) he
shouldn't teach. Why? he exposes
himself that he is not a servant
of God. Romans 16:17-18

Please explain Matthew 7:22,23. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In another place our Lord warns that in the last days there would be deceptions so well crafted that they would deceive if possible the very elect (believers). You don't think the Devil would do his works in his own name do you?

Do we have time to judge Benny Hinn? Did he do wrong? Then, if we call ourselves Christians with the love of God why don't we do any of these two things: pray for Benny so he will not loose his soul in hell, or simply NOT love money and this way we would not even care about how many money this guy has. Then we would rather spend more time in reaching souls for the Kingdom. But, here is the question I have. How many of those who have precious time to criticize, performed this job that Christ told us to do? I myself do not love money, so I care not about the rich of this world. Why would I? In fact, what did a man gain in the perishable wealth of the world if he lost his soul?
If one wants to give money to Benny, let him give the money. I am wise enough not to give him money and I would rather give the money to the poor. So, what is the problem, then?
I know one thing only. I was attending one of Benny Hinn's crusades after I had the worst car accident in my life. Only by the miracle of God I came out alive with no injury to my body. So, this is the first miracle I have seen. Praise the Lord for it.
Then, at Benny Hinn's crusade I was touched by the spirit in that manner that I have prayed for a woman sick of cancer. She was simply healed. I saw this under my arms; I felt the power under my arms, amazing power. Well, Benny Hinn staff did not let her confess her miracle on the stage. None of Benny Hinn's staff even prayed for this woman. I prayed for the woman. And I know one thing; I am only a believer in Christ. I cannot heal anyone. But, Christ Jesus healed that woman that night. This way, I have seen another miracle.
I renounced everything in this world including a family for my love for Christ. Even though I make good money from honest work, I live in a small apartment in MI, I drive the same small car for years, and I am simple in the way I dress also. And if I love this simple life, why in the world would I care for those who are rich?
With all of this, what can I say before God? Is there somebody here who can answer me this question?

Michelle

I can't imagine God would hold a "healing conference" and leave even ONE behind...especially when they come in faith for their healing. Who will answer when their faith is unsure!!!

AND...Can anyone here cite a DOCUMENTED case of someone born without a limb (leg, arm, foot) or that has either had a limb amputated or blown off in war or an accident, having that limb regenerated at a Benny Hinn Crusade? Or what about Down's syndrome? Has a person with Down's Syndrome ever been healed at a Benny Hinn Crusade?

I have never heard of this happening. There are many, many, many brave soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who have had arms and legs blown off in Iraq and Afghanistan. Which faith healer should they go to in order to have their lost limbs restored?

Does God hate amputees? Does God hate people with Down's Syndrome? Are all these people unworthy of being healed? Can anyone show a documented case of an amputee or someone with Down's Syndrome being completely healed, like Benny Hinn claims to be able to do?
