From the Associated Press: “Reaching out to evangelical voters, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is announcing plans that would expand President Bush's program steering federal social service dollars to religious groups and — in a move sure to cause controversy — support their ability to hire and fire based on faith.”

Talk about placing cheese on the mouse trap.
Obama has no shame.
Shame is an equal-opportunity thing, Shane. What's good for the neo-con goose is good for the liberal gander. After all, they both have Methodist ecclesiologies.
This is why it was a bad idea when Bush first introduced it.
Not surprisingly, I thought it was a good idea, and I still do. I'm glad to see Obama not backing away from the challenge of continuing (and improving on) what Bush started but couldn't follow through on (because of other priorities post-9/11).
