These look really good. All subjects that I'm sure are theological and practical.

You no doubt will get lots of suggestions about other books - so, may I be so bold as to suggest [if you have not already read it]that "Made in Our Image" by Steven Lawson is defintely a must read.

Justin,
These, plus Tom Schreiner's NT Theology, will be near the top of my 2008 list as well.
Thanks for the letting us know what will be coming out.

Dan, I had meant to add Schreiner's NT Theology. Thanks for the reminder. I adjusted the post.

What about Tim Keller's "The Reason for God"...

This list of only a few may be dangerous :)

Actually, some of those you've mentioned I've been anticipating as well for awhile. Can't wait!

Great list. I'm chomping at the bit for the Carson book. Carson talked about the impetus behind it in an interview at the Twin Lakes Fellowship this past year. It sounds fascinating and very needed!

David Wells's new book is also on my list.

The other title's also peaked my interest.

There's been alot of buzz about Schreiner's new book...I'll probably borrow a copy from our sutdent pastor when he's done (he always takes one for the team and buys the more expensive titles:)

JT,

Great list. The only one I would add is John Frame's Doctrine of the Christian Life. It is due out from P&R in May 2008. It is the third book in his Theology of Lordship series.

JT,

Let me offer one more coming out by IVP. It is a compilation of nine authors responding to inclusivism. It is called "Faith Comes by Hearing" and is edited by Christopher Morgan and Robert Peterson. The details can be found here.

My wife works at an small bookstore in our town and they get advanced copies of books from publishers every month. Just last week she came home with a big smile on her face and a copy of Keller's "The Reason for God" in her hand. Now that's cool...

Daniel asked, "Any fiction?"

Well, I'm not sure. Does Brian McLaren have a new book coming out in 2008?

Ken,

It sounds like you're looking for its release. :)

Most of my reading tends to be nonfiction, so occasionally it's good to break out of the mold and hear a good story.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to point out that JT wrote:

"Here are the five books I AM MOST EAGERLY ANTICIPATING in the year ahead:"

So the list comprises books that he is interested in... not all of ours. Although a complete listing of BTW Comment Team's 2008 Anticipated Books List would be a great idea. Someone needs to get on that...

How about Conferences of the Year?

Did anyone see the "Gospel Driven Life Conference" featuring Sproul, Godfrey, Horton and R. Scott Clark? http://www.pvpc.com/gdc/index.html

Speaking of books to read for the upcoming year, have you listened to the audio Bible, The Bible Experience yet? The Complete Bible just hit stores about three weeks ago. I listen to it in my car, it's great.
