God's Sovereignty over Sin

For those who are interested in learning more about what the Bible teaches about God's sovereignty over sin, David Mathis--at the DG blog--has been posted excerpts from John Frame's excellent book, The Doctrine of God:
I highly recommend these posts!

When I read this section of Frame over a year ago I was pleased to see someone finally state in unambiguous terms how they see God's sovereignty and man's responsibility fitting together. However, i was a little afraid to even think that I was in full agreement with what he said. On the one hand, I say, yes, that is what I see as I read the Bible. On the other, I'm a bit afraid because it seems so radical.

I've been waiting to see if other Reformed men would stand with Frame or leave him to defend himself or even possibly attack him. I haven't really seen any response yet, but I'd be interested to see if others are supporting him as this good baptist is.

I read all 4 of these articles by John Frame and I appreciate the length he goes to to address this. As Calvin states at one point, there is a mystery at some point for every person.. D. A. Carson, in "How Long Oh Lord, Reflections on suffering and evil" that in the end the origin of evil is shrouded in mystery.

This has been something I have wrestled with for awhile and I really appreciate the posting of these articles. I still wrestle with this, even after reading them, but the conclusion I always have to come to in the end is: I am completely and totally dependent on God for everything! He created me for His purposes and I have no choice but to rely on and trust in Him.

I am reminded of a song by Matt Redman that says:
I lift You high and bow down low,
How high can you be?
How low can I go?
You must increase, I must decrease, LORD.
I'll bow down and you will be adored!

Thanks--Kate
