Open Letter to a University President on Race and Homosexuality

I greatly respect Robert Gagnon's wisdom, persistence, and scholarship on the issue of homosexuality.
He recently wrote an open letter to the President of the University of Toledo, suspending his Associate Vice President of Human Resources (a black, female, Christian), threatening her with worse penalties if does not recant. Her crime? Questioning the comparison of homosexual desire-and-practice with being black.
In Gagnon's letter he cites six scientific studies that demonstrate this fallacy of equality same-sex attraction and race, and he makes a brief philosophical case against incentives for homosexual practice.
Read the whole thing.

While I agree that Dr. Gagnon is to be applauded for his open letter, I reserve my highest praise for Ms. Dixon.
She is the woman, who in working for a secular university has stuck her neck out for the cause of truth. It was a courageous, courteous and well articulated argument that highlights the differences between race/gender discrimination and sexual orientation discrimination.
We should be praying for and supporting our sister in Christ in the midst of this trial.
To that end, I believe Dr. Gagnon has done an admirable job in coming to her aid.
A hearty amen to what Matthew said!
Like I said on the Heidelblog, Robert Gagnon is on faculty at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (where I am enrolled) and he is a brilliant man who needs all of our prayers and support. He is nearly daily the subject of mocking and ridicule by the “tolerant liberals” at PTS. I have taken his Homosexuality class here at PTS and it is more thorough than you can imagine and unassailable by the liberals in class, though no man is more gracious and caring for his students welfare.

An amazing letter. God bless Dr. Gagnon. I doubt seriously though if it will impact the decision of the univeristy president because the issue on his part is not that he lacks understanding of the issue it is that he lacks character and a backbone.
Lloyd Jacobs apparently loves his job, his standing and his comfortable life more than he loves truth and honor. The expedient thing to do in this case is to silence Ms. Dixon and avoid the wrath of the PC crowd. Something he's clearly willing to do.
Ms. Dixon on the other hand seems to be a person willing to put truth and honor in their proper place, above the honors and accolades of this world. I'm thankful for believers like her and pray that God will richly bless her as a result of her stand for truth.
