The M'Cheyne Daily Bible Reading Calendar
10 comments | Permalink
In a recent comment on this blog, Professor David Reimer (OT lecturer at the University of Edinburgh) pointed us to Ben Edgington's very helpful collection of resources on the M'Cheyne daily Bible reading calendar. I thought it'd be worth taking it out of the buried comments and posting it afresh.
There you'll find links to (1) an Online Interactive M'Cheyne Daily Bible Reading Calendar; (2) an RSS feed for the daily readings; (3) PDF versions of the calendar that print a whole year onto one or two sheets of paper; (4) printable M'Cheyne readings month-by-month; (5) technical information about how the interactive calendar works; and (6) how to incorporate the M'Cheyne readings into your own web pages.
Check it out.

Thanks for this, Justin. His printable calendars are excellent.
I, like mamy others, swear by McCheyne's plan. Looking for something different? How about the Discipleship Journal reading plan (which Piper recommends).
The bibleplan.org also helps you tailor the schedule more specifically with multiple options.
Thanks for this info. I have used the M'cheyne plan for years now and love it. Mt Zion Bible Church in Pensacola FL prints out these plans in a slim fold, and is easy to keep in your Bible or a notebook. Plus Mt Zion is gracious in providing as many copies as you'd like, for no cost.
Thanks for this!
I've added his RSS feed to my blog. I'd encourage everyone to do the same so that daily Bible reading is accessible to anyone visiting our sites.
The plan looks great.
We have been using this site as a congregation for the past three years. Bob has done the Christian community a great service compiling these resources.
Ok, I admit, I'm a product of a culture that wants convenience. I'll attempt M'Cheyne's plan when Crossway publishes a "Through the Bible in a Year with M'Cheyne" that has all four readings for the day conveniently put together.
How about it, Justin?
I believe DA Carson has a two volume M'Cheyne reading plan that may aid you Brett. Its called "For the Love of God."

JT,
Thanks for the links. They look great. As inspired by M'Cheyne, I put together a reading guide to Calvin's 1559 Institutes, being that I hadn't ever found one before.
It is located on my blog:

Thanks again for the help.
Thanks for the link.
I was looking for a new way to read systematically in 2008.
Logos just launched a Beta test of a very cool daily Bible reading program which has the option of M'Cheyne:
