Justin, will you be alerting us to Wilson's related blog entries as they appear or should we check over there ourselves? Tim

So affirmation of sola fide and sola gratia do NOT mark the boundaries of who is going to heaven and who is going to hell? Really?! Somebody should alert Paul, the apostle.

Why does Wilson continue to be paraded around like he's some grand expositor of the Christian faith?

I wondered that same thing too. I have heard that JT leans more to N.T. Wright's view of NPP and is an Auburn Theology proponent himself. At least that would explain why Wilson is featured here so often. Don't know.

I personally like Piper, MacArthur, and Sproul. Now they are expositors.

Well, Sproul had Wilson write for him and speak at his conferences numerous times. So if anyone is to be blamed for "parading"...

Mark,

I noticed you wrote "had," is that significant? Are we speaking firmly past tense?

Yeah, I think it is really Christian and admirable, whenever one pastor stops writing or speaking for a ministry, which makes no comment, for us to come up with reasons to circulate in the blogosphere.

Mark,

I wasn't asking for any reasons, I was just asking if it was past tense that's all.

There is a lot of whining on this page. "Why does Wilson continue to be paraded around like he's some grand expositor of the Christian faith?... wah wah wah!" hahaha!

Wells says: "Grow Up!"

That's why I quit reading (or taking seriously) Wilson years ago. He's clearly someone that needs to 'grow up'!

Just finished reading Chapter 3 of the book!

I'm praising God for His righteousness! That is, the way Piper defined it and shown us from the Bible! Wow!!! What a God!!!

Happy Christmas you all! Luke 2:8-14

I just started it and have only read 40 pages and so far I want to tell John to get to the core argument, and stop prefacing everything you write with clarifications. All my opinion, from a pea sized brain.

Yeah Bob, it'll be like that the rest of the book. But I think it's great, Piper took pains to try to understand Wright the right way.

But Wright is really confusing (I have pea-sized brain as well, so that's probably why!) And from the feel I got from the book, almost intentional.

So, yeah, I finished the book, read Wilson's latest blog on it and also all of Trevin's. The only thing really that bothers me is the "limiting" the gospel to "narrative proclamation of King Jesus" or to that effect... I believe it should include justification - probably not the word itself - but the explanation of how we can be saved if we repent and believe.

I thought I will have a hard time reading the book, but it actually was easy the way Piper presented his case. And it's a great way to understand how to truly give someone a fair hearing and still tell that someone "you're wrong."
