After the Baby Boomers

Trevin Wax has completed a chapter-by-chapter review of Robert Wuthnow's book, After the Baby Boomers: How Twenty- and Thirty-Somethings Are Shaping the Future of American Religion (#7 on Al Mohler's list of books every pastor should read this year).

Wax concludes with six suggestions after reading Wuthnow's book:
  1. Raise expectations regarding post-boomer religious participation while simultaneously providing support for this generation.
  2. Buck the trend of late marriages.
  3. Reach out to new movers.
  4. Emphasize doctrine again.
  5. Stop expending so much time and energy debating stylistic issues.
  6. We need to deepen our understanding of other religious faiths.
