Historical Reliability of the Exodus

4 comments | Permalink
As many of you know, Jews began celebrating Passover last night at sundown. The popular political blog, Power Line, had a post yesterday which alluded to last year's NYT article, mentioning the lack of archaeological evidence for Israel's exodus from Egypt and quoting an expert who said it was a myth. In response Power Line had linked to a book by Egyptologist James Hoffmeier.

I sent the guys at Power Line a note about this, including a section from the ESV Study Bible that briefly addresses the question of the reliability of the exodus account. You can read it here.

You see, you just can't resist dangling that ESV Study Bible in front of my face even though I can't get one until October. For shame!

But seriously, good post!
