Puritan Reading Challenge

Timmy Brister has come up with a great idea: the 2008 Puritan Reading Challenge. You can see the schedule and books here.
I consider you to take up the challenge, then tolle lege (take up and read)!

I started this reading straight up on January 1st. I wanted to begin earlier, but held myself back. I amposting my thoughts on my blog.
According to the special page, the pages of all these books total
2559. That's only about 7 pages a day...not to bad at all, might make for some nice bedtime reading...
DT,
That's right. Initially, the idea was to add 30 minutes a day to your reading, say after your Bible study or devotional time.
I think it is also to bear in mind that reading the Puritans requires a little more attention and slower reading than your typical book out today.
JT,
Thank you for helping get the word out!
Timmy and Justin--
For what it's worth, I read all but one of the books on this list during seminary and my early ministry, and they had an enormous, life-changing, ministry-shaping impact on me. A couple of them almost literally saved my life. I couldn't recommend them more highly. I'd only add: a)Read Owen on Temptation as well as Mortification. It's short and well worth the read. b)Consider adding Baxter's Saints Everlasting Rest. Other than those, I'd agree that these are the best short, accessible Puritan works. A great list.

Mr. Keller,
Thank you so much for the personal recommendation and words of encouragement!
While the books you mentioned are not on the list of scheduled reading, they are on the list of scheduled giveaways. :)
Your testimony regarding the impact the Puritans have had on your life and ministry is truly significant. Thank you for taking the time to share your heart on this matter.
