Why the focus on American children? This simply reinforces the BAD presumption that the 'we' that matters is the American 'we'. This uncritically underwrites the assumption that Christians have a stake in how 'well' American society is running.
Certainly, American children matter. Certainly, the fact that Americans are willing to abort their children for convenience's sake represents a tragic misplacing of priorities both at the individual level and at the societal level.
But the relationship of the Church to this one particular country needs to be fleshed out before the question of abortion can be rightly asked.
"But the relationship of the Church to this one particular country needs to be fleshed out before the question of abortion can be rightly asked."
I don't think it does.
The same kind of statistics in this video could be replicated for most countries on earth. There are more than 40,000,000 abortion per year - a figure which is close to the number of deaths from all other causes.
The number of abortions per year in the United Kingdom is about 200,000 a year.
Abortion is a worldwide tragedy, not just an American one. But I don't see a problem with a video focusing on the problem in one particular country.
Pro-lifers hold that unborn children (children throughout the world) should not be intentionally killed for elective reasons. We must ask “What is the most effective way for us to make an impact for the pro-life cause?” An incredibly effective way is for us to educate people on a large-scale level (that is exactly what you are doing, Justin!). www.abort73 has a myspace page. The page reads, “Abort73 has already had one MySpace account inexplicably deleted (costing us close to 6,000 friends).” They had their account deleted! Another part of their page reads, “As best we can tell, it was our "This is Abortion" video that cost us our first MySpace account. Though the video had been on our MySpace page for over 6 months, it started receiving massive viewership right before our account was pulled (which made the deletion even more painful). After receiving maybe 10 or 15 comments during the first 6 months, it suddenly received close to 300 comments in 2 days, pushing the total play count past 100,000. The next thing we knew, MySpace pulled the plug.” When these types of things happen, we have to be very creative.

Here is information about how important graphic visuals are:
Wow. That was incredibly graphic, but an accurate video. Before I was a Christian, I worked in the ER and a woman had come in because she has miscarried and had caught the fetus. When she brought it for us to run tests I was shocked. At such a young "age" you can definitly see the form of a human being. These facts should be known worldwide. Thanks for posting this JT. Also, I am kind of bummed they only used American statistics...I would change it.
If anyone's interested, this morning I posted a brief list of Christian pro-life resources, including some of Justin's stuff. I tried to find good places for believers to learn how to speak out against abortion, as well as things like crisis pregnancy centers and adoption help.
Thank you, JT, for this video. This may not have been your intention in posting, but the video of the precious little babies has helped me this morning in accepting my own pregnancy. I am an at-home mom with 3 wonderful kids. We recently found out that we are expecting our 4th and it was very much of a surprise. I have been extremely sick and struggling to accept this with joy. I have had tears in my eyes numerous times this morning as I have thought about the little hands and feet I saw on the video knowing that is taking place inside of me. Thank you again.
Daniel (the first guy who commented), WTF dude? Talk about completely missing the point of the video. For a short while at least can you look past the hate-mongering and see the substance of what is being said?
Why does the relationship of the Church to "this particular country" needs to be fleshed out first? How about other "particular countries?"
The message is clear: abortion is murder. We need to save these babies, they are babies, not non-living things --BABIES. Thanks for the graphic video--and for sharing it, I pray many will see this and THINK about these childrens lives..........being thrown away to the gods of covenience, money, selfishness--ugh.
Thanks for posting this and for pointing viewers (albeit indirectly) to Abort73.com. I'm currently leasing the former office space of a guy heavily involved with Abort73.com, and I've spent a lot of time on that/other of their websites as a providential result of that connection. They are doing very good work.

Thanks for posting that important video! It is a very effective way to get people to understand what elective abortion does to the unborn.
speaking of, ironically 4 of my good friends are going to court this morning for a protest they did at a local community college
their lawyer bailed out on them last week, and they are representing themselves
pray for the Hunt family

Jake,
I’m glad to hear that you put up a pro-life educational resource post! I hope and pray that many others do the same.
